Merchant and Mills Sewing Book
Carolyn Denham & Roderick Field (the dynamic duo behind the Merchant and Mills) are absurdly proud to present an exqusitely beautiful condensed volume of our take on the art of sewing and the sheer satisfaction of making.
This first book, published by Collins & Brown of London, is a two part extravaganza. Part I reveals why and how we do what we do and presents the information you need to be part of the growing sewing renaissance. Part II is a veritable sewing course with fifteen lovely items to make, featuring complete instructions, diagrams and pictures to make your mouth water. Each project builds on the skills learned in the previous one and we even enclose two patterns for you to scale up and make.
Part I introduces tools, techniques, Merchant and Mills philosophy and working methods so you're completely prepared for the fifteen fabulous projects in part 2.
The book guides you through the construction of an apron, bags, soft furnishings and even things to wear. Each task builds on the skills gained in the previous one and as if that were not enough we even throw in a couple of patterns for you to scale up and get cutting.
Read, learn and make.
